Brewers Hardware review in BYO

There is a review on page 9 in the Nov. 2011 issue of Brew Your Own on the Brewers Hardware Tri Clover Filter Strainer. Good to see some publicity!

Re: Crispin Landsdowne Cider

I got this one at the Grog Shop in Whittier. I've seen several more Crispin ciders at Liquor Mart on Whittier Boulevard. I was at Total Wine in Brea this week and surprisingly did not see any in their cider section.

Crispin Landsdowne Cider

I love apple cider. I really enjoy drinking it in the fall, for obvious reasons. Certain beers and beverages lend themselves to certain times of the year. I feel the urge to drink stouts and porters more in the winter months, saisons in the spring, and IPAs, hefeweizens in the summer. Even a Mexican...

Re: Storing water filter

I was told to open it up and let it dry. I've done that for a year or so now and haven't seen any mildew in the filter.

Re: NAS/External/Cloud

Following up...I am using the WD My Book Live 2TB and decided to use SyncBack as well. So far, so good. The interface is easy to use and pretty slick. I've got my first scheduled sync for early tomorrow morning. I like the NAS and being able to access my music from all the household computers. Thank...

Re: 1st ever brewers choice homebrew competition

and i don't care what judges think about it, unless the judges are me, my friends, and the plethora of great men and women involved in this small subculture of socal homebrewing. i'm not telling anyone that their thought process is wrong, or that the conventional wisdom is without its merit. i'm sa...

Re: OC Brew Fest 2011

I think they're brilliant. Given the choice, I'd choose to use a tree over the funk-oven that is the standard porta-potty, so this is probably the next best thing. If they can get more of these in there and shorten the lines to get me back to drinking beer, then I think someone should win an award.

Re: paid my dues.

John, I haven't been to More Beer in Riverside since joining Brewcommune. I don't have a membership card, so how do they know I qualify as a BC member?

Re: New weldless bulkhead from Brewers Hardware

I was very impressed with this design. You've got a winner here. After too many leaks with my other weldless fittings I was set on getting rid of them and moving to a welded fitting. I'm glad I'll be able to avoid that hassle and use these. I'll be sure to pass the word along.

I have the same situation. It fits, but not air tight. I'll be interested to see if there's an good solution.

Re: Chlorine/Chloramine

I've had an off-flavor issue recently and my recent hypothesis is chlorine/chloramine in my water. Based on my water report (Suburban Water Systems) it is very plausible. Thanks to advice from Brent, I treated the water of my last brew with Campden tablets. Initial tastes from the primary do not hav...

Re: NAS/External/Cloud

Brad, I just bought a WD My Book Live last night. However, I am a little disappointed in the backup software. It wants to find all your pictures, videos, documents for you, then back them all up. I understand that it was designed for the average user. I'd prefer to be able have it back up only selec...

NAS/External/Cloud

I figured I'd solicit some advice since we have so many IT people in the club. I'm looking for a backup solution that works well, that is also affordable. Currently I'm using Carbonite, but they started throttling my upload speeds as I've passed the 150GB mark. Screw them. My next thought is to skip...
