I'm selling a Sanke keg that has been converted to a boil kettle/hot liquor tank. It is fitted with a Brewers Hardware weldless fitting and ball valve. Asking $90. PM me if you are interested.

Re: Building a new system.
Still Need: Weldless Fittings Mash Screen Cinder Blocks Extra Propane Tank I'm a little biased, but I think my weldess fittings are the best available: http://www.brewershardware.com/Weldless-Fittings/ Brewers Hardware weldless fittings are the best. I have tried others and they leak regardless of ...

Re: Twisted Vine Winter Beer Fest
I hope it works! And, I just realized that it was 12-3pm today. Dang, I totally missed that part of the post. I think I just read "winter beers" and "homebrew" and just got too excited. Bummer. Nonetheless, I'll be there later tonight anyway. I hope it went well Dan.

That sounds great. And you're serving homebrew on tap? Bonus! I'll try to stop by.

Re: Batch sparging
My sparge water was 168. It sounds like the lack of stirring was what led to my low efficiency. Everything else was spot on.

Batch sparging
Chris Blohm and I brewed a Brown ale this weekend. It was my first try at batch sparging. I missed my target gravity by .010 and my efficiency was only 60%, so I'm trying to figure out what went wrong. I will blame some of this on my neighbor who walked up and distracted me during the sparge steps. ...

Good price for a chest freezer
Home Depot has a 7 cubic foot chest freezer on sale right now for $168. The Homebrewtalk forums have lots of posts about keezer conversions and also indicate that it will fit (2) 6.5 gallon carboys or 4 corney kegs. I had been scouring Craigslist for a chest freezer, so I couldn't pass this up. Home...

Putting a system together
I am hoping to pick up a new brew kettle this Christmas. Right now I'm split between the B3 Heavy Duty and the Blichmann Boilermaker. Based on what I've read on these boards and HBT, the B3 kettle seems like a better buy, considering the cost. Blichmann recommends a 20 gallon kettle for 10 gallon ba...
