Re: BJCP/Cicerone/beer judge group

Attached is a word bank from a BJCP class I took. It's all yours. It is from Grand Master II, Jim Wilson (also an exam director). It helped me way too much. Print or download a copy for yourselves.

Re: BJCP/Cicerone/beer judge group

Thanks for the info.

I plan to show up at Brewery X about an hour before the meeting start time. They have tasters there. Anyone interested can come by early.

BJCP/Cicerone/beer judge group

Hi all. There's a lot of buzz about people interested in this. If you want to be a judge, go the Cicerone route, or be a better beer taster, then this group is for you. If you want to understand more about beer and flavor descriptors, feel free to come along. If you like drinking beer and not buggin...

Re: August Club Meeting - Chapman Crafted, August 21st, 7 PM

Hey Greg. Still awesome job you are doing. I drink beer at many places. If I think a venue is good for BrewCommune, I will pass it to you. As one of the BOS judges of the competition that placed the baltic porter, please go there and evaluate it. I remember a pleasant dark malt aroma minus the rough...

Re: Keezer collar holes

Some people drill holes to do what is said in this post. Very likely, you can ask the manufacturer about safe locations to drill holes. They should be willing to help since you spent cash on their stuff. You will need the drill bits to do the project. There is also a putty made to seal holes for thi...

Re: August Club Meeting - Chapman Crafted, August 21st, 7 PM

First, I want to thank the organizers for finding a spot that allows homebrew and us being roudy. From my experience with volunteer groups, any help is appreciated by all members. It's a lot of side work for organizers. Any ideas on new venues would be cool. I am open for new spots. I think the top ...

Re: Fermenting under pressure

For fermenting under pressure and additions, it depends on what you are really in for. If you want yeast stress products, then most of them should be produced already for late additons. If you want to maintain CO2 levels for serving later, I recommend to rethink the recipe/process or pay the extra c...

Re: Need high alcohol spirit

Ethanol at high levers costs exponentially pricier. Also, I don't want to be on Homeland Security's list and explain to the why I have a highly flammable liquid in a residence.

Thanks on the Tito's recommendation.

Re: Fermenting under pressure

Fermenting under pressure is used by brewery pilot systems to get as close to the parameters of their production system. There are already equipment made to do that. I'll have to look things up if you want to get into it. Some research is out there if you look or have access. In general, pressure ca...

Need high alcohol spirit

Hi all. I had a request to showcase hops in a future meeting. I am checking feasibility. Does anyone with a good palate for spirits know a clean and very alcoholic drink? I want as pure ethanol with no spice notes or solventy characteristics. Yes, it's for research purposes (take that statement as y...
