Post by craigsdickson »

I have a friend coming to visit and she is jonesing for some Pliny and she tells me they have it on tap at the moment according to their website.

Even if they don't have it on tap they are sure to have something good. I'd say it's one of the best places to get a good beer in OC, if you can get there before they close (which is tough for me).

They had it on as of Monday. Hopefully there's still some on!

I go there twice a week usually, so I am the guy to ask. In fact I was there last night.

Pliny the Elder was there last week, but was blown already last night. They usually have it on a constant rotation though, so it should be back soon hopefully. It has to be their best selling beer.

Their website is pointless, if you look at it, it says "On tap as of 9/17/07". They never update it. They always have a lot of good IPA's (like Alesmith, and Stone Ruiniation right now), and everything else there is good too.

But yeah, I can only get one or two in at the most after work before they close.

Haha, like I said, it goes fast. They must have finished it off yesterday before I got there. The keg was sitting behind the bar empty last night.

I'm sure they will have it right back on soon.

They usually have last call around 45 min. before they close though. They expect everyone gone by closing, not starting to leave.

Thanks for the replies.

BTW if you are also a Pliny fan, Russian River intends to start putting it in bottles once they square away their move to new brewing premises!

That is good news. Now they need to make Pliny the Younger year round and bottle it.

They're not going to make it year round, but they do plan to bottle the younger starting next year.

Hmmm, now that I didn't know. Well I guess that is as good as making it year round as long as you buy enough :)
