Keg cleaning

Post by ScottK »

How often is it recommended to replace keg o-rings? I seem to be doing it frequently, erring on the side of caution. Also, is it advisable to PBW new beverage line, or is sanitizing enough?

I don't recall reading any recommended schedule for O-ring replacement. Generally, when I get a keg it gets new O-rings. Then it's as needed. I do like silicone for QD bodies and quad seal for the dip tubes.

New beverage line only gets Starsan before first use for me.

Second on the quad seal for the dip tubes. It's a square profile oring.

I have not changed mine in over 5 years. I have no leaks and no other problems.

I use keg lube on my seals and keep my kegs in a chest freezer almost all the time.
