January Club Meeting Tuesday 1/19 7:00 PM your house

The January 2021 meeting will be Tuesday, January 19th at 7:00 PM PST via zoom.

Calvin will be taking over from Justin as our Style Coordinator and will be presenting Japanese Rice Lager.

We will also be bringing back the Club Brew Buy this month with GameCraft. GC has a fantastic Japanese Rice Lager, (Otaku), that you can purchase through the club beer buy and follow along with Calvin during the presentation. GC will also be logged on at the meeting to discuss the beer and answer any questions the club may have.

Club Brew Buys function by purchasing beer through a breweries website, and entering "BrewCommune" in the promo code. At the end of the club brew buy window, all of the club beers will be picked up from GameCraft and distributed to two central locations. Yorba Linda, and Brewers Hardware in Huntington Beach to be picked up. (Delivery is possible if you are on the route to BH from GC. Kick me a message if you would like your beer to be delivered and we will see if we can work it out.)

The Details:

1. Before Noon on January 15th log on to GameCraft's retail website here: https://www.toasttab.com/gamecraft-brewing/v3#!/

2. Select 'PICKUP'

3. Next, you will need to pick a date and a time. The options available to you will be 24-48 hours in the future. You can choose any date and time available as it is irrelevant for the club buy. (The beer(s) you order will be picked up on 1/15 and available for your pickup in Yorba Linda or Brewers Hardware in Huntington Beach prior to t he meeting on the 19th.)

4. Browse the menu and select your choice(s). If you would like to follow along with Calvin's Japanese Rice Lager Style Presentation, choose 'Otaku'. (As of the writing of this post Otaku is available in Draft Crowler or 6 pack of 12 oz. cans.)

5. Select Checkout and enter you information. IMPORTANT: click promocode and enter "BrewCommune" as all one word and click 'APPLY' This is necessary in order to set aside your order for pickup and to ensure that any crowlers you order are not filled too soon. (You will also see a discount of $1.00 applied. Be assured we are not asking for a discount from a local brewery during a pandemic. This was set up by GC to assist with their tracking.)

The topic will be adjuncts, in general. Otaku will serve as a guided taste. Be sure to get some and more if you want.

If wanted, bring you own beer with adjunct in it. I would like to do an unofficial survey on what is your perferred adjunct. Use your beer choice as a vote for before the meet.

January Club Meeting Notes - Late

Homebrewer Award: Rocky will engrave and drop off at Windsor for Calvin.
Election Results Reviewed: Two new board members – Bob and Jim (Secretary)
Biographies: Tim will provide format on board. Everybody will put up their info on home brewing career and accomplishments, homebrew process and equipment. Way for group to reconnect with each other.
2021 SoCal Homebrewing Fest. Check in member section of board. Sign ups there. Still unofficially scheduled for April 30 – May.
Homebrew share Progress: using fridge space at Brewers Hardware. 7oz bottles available at Brewer’s Hardware. PM or email Calvin with any questions. Can use to decide what beers to enter into competitions. Share beer if have two much.
