fermentation

lid on primary fermenter came loose &wort overflowed,put lid back on. will it be ok or be contaminated?

Hi Skydog and welcome to the board!

The answer is "it depends". As long as it was still an active fermentation and it isn't near a massive contaminant your chances are pretty good that the beer will be OK. At this point about the only thing you can do is to wait it out. Clean and sanitize as best you can, and let the fermentation complete. Give the beer a taste before you put in into whatever container(s) you plan to use .. if it tastes OK (albeit flat), you're golden, if not, then you've saved yourself the trouble of bottling / kegging. You really don't have too much to lose by letting it complete.

I've had multiple occasions where an airlock has blown off a carboy and had the beer turn out great. RDWHAHB.

This only happened to me once, but the beer turned out fine.

I have had 3 airlocks blow off and had no problem with beer.
