Mead?

Post by yl_ryan »

Continuing with a question from another thread about mead. I haven't tried mead, but I am curious. Where can I pick up a quality representation of mead to sample in OC, either bottled or on tap?

Oskaar would be the guy to answer that as he's the resident expert, but I would check Total Wine in Tustin. Also, it's not uncommon for one of our members to bring some to a meeting. Come on out Tuesday night and luck may be on your side.

I've seen both Redstone and Rabbit's Foot meads at the Total Wine in Tustin. AFAIK these are both actual meads and not wine with honey added. You will see several bottles on the same shelf claiming to be mead but which are actually white wine with honey added. I've never tried mead from either of those meadmakers, so I can't say anything about how good they are or which ones would be good to try.
