Secondary options

Post by Marotte Brewery »

I have a beer that I need to put in a secondary fermenter with dry hops and oak chips. I know the question has been asked about using corny's for this, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion.

Which would be the better option? Carboy or Corny?

Oh, and I plan to do this today.....

Thanks!

I normally don't secondary, but if I was going to age the beer on oak chips, I would use a five gallon carboy to reduce headspace. I have a five gallon carboy if you need one. You could use a corny keg, but you would have to put the hops and oak chips in hop bags and suspend them somehow to prevent clogging of the dip tube.
