TVHA/Brewcommune get together

Post by thetonka »

Hey guys, I think I posted something about this a while back, but since its not there anymore I will post it again. We are trying to come up with some ideas for the club this year and since Gary and I have received such friendly attitudes from you guys we have talked about a get together. We were hoping to plan a trip in a couple of months and come out and see the Bruery when its open to get a tour and do some tasting. I still have to talk to Pat about this. We had talked about making a day of it and after touring and tasting at the Bruery getting together with the brewcommune and have a dinner and social get together, maybe some club tastings. Anyway more details will have to be worked out, but I thought I would send this out and see what you guys think.

Talk to you all soon. :D

Works for me too! Just check with me on scheduling first-- there's a few weekends in March and April that won't work.

EXCELLENT. When are you going to be open Pat? I don't know how many we will have but we have been averaging about 12 people at the meetings. If we get enough people we will get a bus or van or something.

Really looking forward to trying the Bruery beer.

Revisiting this.

We talked at the meeting and April will be a better month for us, and will give us all a chance to plan something. We are doing a club mass brew for the fest in March.

So I sent a PM to Pat and I will work with him to arrange the bruery tour, but what would be a good weekend for the rest of the club?

Also I am working on a google calendar for club events so when I plan it if everyone wants to email me their email addresses I can include you on the invites.

Got a lot of enthusiasm from the club about this, so I am hoping this will be a hit.

Hey Mike,

We will be having our next club brew day in April, we can plan a joint Brewcommune/TVHA for that. We haven't set a date yet, so let's see what will work for both clubs as far as dates and a location. We can use my house if needed. I live in Corona, so it is an easy drive for most everybody.

We had our big brew day for the SCHF last Saturday at BrianC's house in Garden Grove. We did one big mash, then ran off into seperate kettles where specialty grains were steeped before the boil. We ended up making five unique beers from one mash. You can see some pics from the brew day on this thread.

I will PM you my email address so you can add me to the calendar and so we can start the ball rolling on the joint club brew day.

A Corona location would be great. After touring the Bruery Corona would be on the way home.

Pat has come back with April 5 and April 12. How does that sit with the rest of the BC boys?

BTW, we made the paper. Front page even.

April 5 is my 5-year anniversary. So that one is definitely out.

While reporters tend to paraphrase and miss parts of the story, you guys got a pretty good write-up. Crongrats!

The 5th or the 12th both work for me. Hopefully, I will have my 10 gallon system up and running by then.
