March 2009 Brewcommune Meeting, 3/17.

Post by kevinham »

Patrick has graciously offered The Bruery as a meeting place on March 17th. Very cool.

General meeting will start at 7pm. Executive board will meet at 6:30. Bring some home brew and munchies.

Preliminary agenda:
* Finalize SCHF plans - who's going, ice, wood, food, carpooling, serving schedule, swag
* Club brew day at The Bruery
* Membership report - Sprout, jward
* Web site updates - calendar, recipes - brahn (if he can make it)
* AOB
* Style focus - Brew Captain

Please feel to suggest other items for the agenda.

If you want pizza, it is $5 and you have to post here to let us know first.

If I am, then I don't think I can make the meeting this month. :)

So what you meant was, "Pizza will be available for a small fee", right?

The Style Focus will be on Beers of Ireland in honor of St. Patrick's Day. The commercial examples acquired so far are from Beamish, Guinness, Murphy's and Smithwicks.

Cheers!

Great time last night! There was a really good turn out. A shout out to Pat and Rachel for allowing us to gather and enjoy the fantasitc offerings at the Bruery. Good to see some of the "old skool" guys that have been AWOL lately (you know who you are) and a lot of new faces too. Kudos to Tim for taking care of the pizza. Pete (Oskaar, not ^Respect) had some outstanding honey creations to share which I had never tried before like his hippocrass and a metheglin. Marotte Brewery provided a kicking "Apple Ale" made with the ever notorious Apple Jolly Rancher candies. A lot of other great homebrews were passing around the tables with the Vienna Lager from Maltbarley being especially memorable (still can't believe that was dry yeast!).

Cheers!

Thanks Patrick for hosting our meeting last night. I can't honestly think of a better place to have a meeting! It was great seeing everyone there and checking out all the great beer that people made and brought to share.

cheers, Pete

I'll second this!

If someone decides to open a homebrew shop near the Bruery ( ), having all the meetings at the Bruery would be a very good idea. I'm happy to help with set-up, clean-up and snacks/pizza.

Thank you Pat and Rachel for offering your place of business!

Does anyone think that the location (geographic) had a lot to deal with the turnout?

I would never want us to take avantage of Patrick's generosity but Anytime Pat and Rachel are up for hostine, I believe we should accept. I think its nice to be in aplace we don't feel rushed or loooked at funny because we are bringing "some of own" beer.

And now we all know the "rule": no food to Barley, no matter how cute he is or how much he bats his eyelashes at you. This may be the only thing that really could get us banned from the Breury.

Hey Pat & Rachel -
was Barley ok last night or did you have an eventful evening? But you have to admit, he is really cute and did a good job convincing us that it really was ok for him to have some pizza :). Thanks again for last night - it was a good time! :happybeer:
I may not brew, but I sure can cook the books!
