July 5th John Palmer

Post by oc eric »

John Palmer is kind enough to come to Addison Homebrew Provisions Monday July 5th @ 7pm to give a presentation on water chemistry. People will also be bringing in their homebrew to share and evaluate.

I highly recommend that you buy/bring your copy of "How to Brew" for him to sign.

Since I have no idea how many people are planning on attending, get here by 7pm because at some point the shop won't legally hold any more people and I won't have a choice but turn people away. Sorry.

John is one cool guy. Can't wait to see him again. Last time I saw him was at SCHBF the last year it was at Vail Lake. He basically just parked in our booth and had to have hung out with us for like 3 hours.

Nice event dude. I will try to make it. Palmer is a really cool guy to hang out with. This year at SCHF he came back to our camp site on Saturday night and ate dinner with us. He really knows his brewing science too, so I highly reccomend that people attend this if they can.

Sorry Eric, I won't be able to make it. I just got called in to work O/T that night. I'm really bummed-out about it, his book was my inspiration to start homebrewing. Sounds like you'll still have a pretty good showing and an even better presentation.

In almost every Beer magazine I've seen, John is either mentioned or his book is used as a reference.
It will be an honor to meet him in person.
I'll bring my city water report. (Tustin Water)

Eric,
How many people are you allowed to have?
Is this members only or can we invite guests?

Brad's bringing Pizza!!! I'm OK with it, if someone wants to co-ordinate that.

There will be other clubs there as well guys. Not sure how many of whom, but I don't know who is on the store mailing list and I have advertised as much as possible.

The store is open for business until 7pm, so bring a little extra for any customers ;-)

BTW- If you're bring homebrew, you can put it in the hops/yeast fridge on the bottom level or the WHITE fridge at the back of the shop.

Finally, the store will be open after the meeting if anyone needs to pick something up.

John will have a few of each of his books, but I recommend you buy and bring in your own copy so you don't miss out!

I know, I'd love to come. John's a great guy and he really knows his water chemistry. I have a hockey game that night, but if I can make it even for a while I will.
