Hot Tamale Stout

So we killed the keg of the wife's Hot Tamale (Serrano Wit) and at the very end I mixed a little with my RIS. So now I am thinking about combining the two together. So this is the rough mash up of the two recipes. Any thoughts or inputs? Recipe: Hot Tamale Stout Brewer: Foamy Asst Brewer: Grico Styl...

Re: Opportunity for Aspiring Brew Masters

Interested, except the 30 years life experience. I could pick up smoking and take away 2 years of my life, would that work? K:-)

Re: Standard Bitters

Ya the Carafoam was the only thing i was on the fence about. I have never used it, but I heard it gives a slight spice flavor. Ya, I just wanted a simple recipe for this first brew. Plus something that is cheap in case I screw it up on the new system. :-P Plus it should be highly drinkable as a stan...

Re: Building a new system.

Having pipe dreams is fun, but I decided that I would save a little money now, and slowly build my system. Costs ran up really quickly when I actually started to price everything out. For now I have left out the pumps, and plan to just stack up some cinder blocks to give me a gravity feed system for...

Standard Bitters

So I am thinking about doing a Standard Bitters for my first 10g batch. Figure that will give me something rather simple to play with. I have formulated this recipe, and was looking for a little feedback. Recipe: Standard Bitters Brewer: Grico Asst Brewer: Brewcommune Style: Standard/Ordinary Bitter...

Re: Building a new system.

Fermentation has been on my mind as well. My plan is to ferment 10g in a 15.5g Sanke kegs, and 5g in my fermentation bucket. That way i can play with different yeast, oak, or dry hops.

Re: Building a new system.

After talking to some people last night, and some more research. I think I will end up going direct fired with NG. Thank you to those of you who have offered up your breweries, I will be in touch and I cant wait to see how they work. I will keep updating this post as I gather more info and start the...
