Re: Tandem Double Ale clone - Pike Brewing Co.

Have you read "Designing Great Beers" by Daniels? If not, it's a must read. It really helped me to spot what's to style for a recipe and what's not. I remember seeing a Dusseldorf Alt recipe in BYO and thinking it looked like a great recipe. After reading DGB, I saw the recipe again and r...

Re: Kegerator how to link

There was a site that documented someone converting a chest freezer into a kegerator. It listed tools needed, parts, etc. It's what I used to build mine and I think Kevin and Dan used to build theirs...

Kegerator how to link

I seemed to have lost the link I used to have on how to build a kegerator out of a chest freezer. Dan, I think it's the same one you used to build yours. Does anyone still have this link? I have a friend who wants to build one.

Re: Volume of wort with all grain brew

1/2 of your wort missing seems like quite a bit! Can you explain your mash tun set up in a little more in detail perhaps? You typically lose around ~10% to grain absorbtion so if you were missing 1/2 of your total volume, I would think it might have something to do with your manifold. Did you check ...

Re: Chilling your wort

This is one my favorite beers to brew and I personally feel that fermenting in the 60d~ range followed by 'lagering' for a month or two really helps this beer shine. I agree with Brad that the fruitiness you're getting is most likely from the high fermentation temps. I say stick 12 pack in the fridg...

Magic Chef ~9-10 cubic ft fridge for sale

I just bought a new fridge to replace this thing. It's roughly 2' W x 2' D x 5 'H. The freezer part suck ass but it does keep cold enough to ferment most beers. It's one of those fridges that only has 1 door and a little cheesy freezer section above that always builds up too much ice. It'll easily h...

Re: Questions about Mead

You could also try checking out GotMead.com. Like BC mentioned, Oskaar is the mead King around here (and most everywhere) and he pretty much is gotmead.com as well! Take a peak over there or wait till he chimes in - you'll see what we mean!
