Re: Orange Street Fair this weekend
I know this maybe somewhat late, but there is a Kwik Mart @ La Veta & Glassel that has a pretty decent selection of beers for a convenience store. Last time I walked over there they had Chimay, Bear Republic, Young's, and a few others. If you live close like I do, you may want to check it out.

Re: Seattle brews
1 day in Vancouver, so what did you think of the beer prices in Canada.
I almost shat myself when a 12'er of the "cheap stuff" in Whistler was north of $25.00.

Re: I'm New to Orange County
Hollingshead Deli in Orange has a pretty good selection. Although it's not the best selection, they sell them in singles. I've bought Pliny there in the past & one can of Old Chub to try. It gets a little expensive that way, but if your looking to sample a beer before committing to 6 of them, it...

Re: Bottling Caps
You probably don't want to soak more caps than needed if you are using the O2 absorbing caps, anyways. As I believe getting them wet activates the cap to start absorbing the oxygen. Not that they wouldn't have worked (if not for the rust) they just wouldn't have performed the function of absorbing O2.

Re: Keg Cleaning
Thanks for the welcome, I joined quite a while ago and have only posted a few times. I imagine I will have quite a few questions once I "officially" start brewing. So far I have only brewed a few Mr. Beer batches. You can guess how well they turned out. It was enough to get me hooked thoug...

Re: Keg Cleaning
If you are interested in building this, I would check out the brewing network gadget show http://thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/The-Sunday-Session/The-Sunday-Session-12-18-05-The-Gadget-Show . Doc talks about his Carboy & Keg cleaner. If you use the little giant pump that he talks about, you won't ...

I just bought a small tub @ the Dollar Tree because I didn't want to invest in a big box without knowing if it was going to work. It did. I put 2 scoops in my sink added the hot water and as many bottles as I could and let the bottles soak for a couple of hours. Most of the labels were laying in the...
