Re: New Here
Welcome! For books, I would highly recommend "How to Brew" by John Palmer. It walks you through extract brewing through all-grain brewing and you can continue to use it as a resource as you advance through the obsession, er, hobby. Another good publiciation is the Introduction to Homebrewi...

Re: Water - benefit and costs of RO
I can't offer any practical knowledge yet as I am just getting my RO filter going. I'll be using it on the next brewday, whenever that ends up being. Hopefully within the next couple of weekends. I ended up getting a 100 GPD unit (upgradeable to 200 GPD) off Amazon. I'll pre-fill one of my old plast...

The BGS scored 36/38/41. Detailed feedback and completely agree with the comments they made.

Out of the Park Pizza just posted the following message on their Facebook page:
"Sorry to say but we are going to be closed tonight for maintenance"
If we need a last minute backup place, our backyard patio is open.

Re: Sparging with a pump
I'm looking to get a single or two tier brew sculpture soon and wanted to ask the guys who have these systems some questions: 1. How long does it take you to sparge? I'm worried I won't be able to sparge slow enough to get a high enough efficiency and hot my numbers. Around 90 mins for 80% (1.5 BBL...

Re: Aeration (including Olive Oil vs. Aeration)
Neva from White Labs discussed this experiment at NHC, and the general idea I took away from that portion of the talk was it was more of a pain to get the proper amount of Olive Oil emulsified into solution than it was just to oxygenate the batch. http://yeastbuddy.wordpress.com/2012/07/26/olive-oil...

Re: Belgian Vienna Red Ale
I've used T-58 quite a bit. As mentioned in the link Chris posted, it gets pretty peppery and might be a bit much for this beer. I would also get lots of bubble gum at first, but after conditioning a while it would dissipate. If you are wanting to stick to dry, I think S-33 would be a better choice.
