BJCP 2015 - what would you call this?
If you take a look at this recipe, what would you characterize it as given BJCP 2015 guidelines? (11 gal batch): Ingredients: ------------ Amt Name Type # %/IBU 13 lbs Pale Ale Malt, Northwestern (Grea Grain 1 67.5 % 3 lbs Munich 10L (Briess) (10.0 SRM) Grain 2 15.6 % 2 lbs Caramel Malt - 40L (Bries...

Re: Keeping track of recipes
Tracking recipes? What's that.... I am the worst. I generally print out a recipe using Beersmith for the first time I'm brewing it. If I rebrew that same sheet gets more notes. If I change the ingredients I reprint as a new recipe. All of the printed recipes are carefully placed into piles in multi...

Re: BrewCommune x Chapman Crafted
Realized this is VERY late to the party... But why don't we print up some flyers for SCHF about this competition? Right now there are only 39 entries. While I like that [for my chances to win], I think we need to boost numbers if we want this to be a really strong event. SCHF is a perfect place to h...

Re: BrewCommune x Chapman Crafted
Had a question about how this works and if it's typical for a pro-am, in case anyone has ever judged one: Fermentations are typically focused on well-attenuated, clean flavor profiles. Saflager 34/70 (German lager) is the typical house lager strain and US-05 (American ale) is the typical house ale s...

That can always work. My office is basically at Jamboree & Michelson.Reid wrote:I think I’ll be going. We can always arrange another time that works. My office is right across from the airport if you’re close.

Re: Keeping track of recipes
I use BeerSmith. I have every recipe I've brewed back to the beginning of 2010. I make a copy of each recipe even if I didn't change anything in the recipe, my gravities may end up slightly different or even added tasting notes may be different. Easy to sort by date, style or recipe name and you ca...

FYI I won't make it tonight...
Reid, are you going to be at SCHF this year? That would definitely work for me.

Re: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 2019 SCHF
I'll attest to the same. I've volunteered a few times, and it's about as easy of a duty as you can get, and it gets you in free. And it's not like the limited time causes an issue; given that it's a full-day festival, you'll get to sample anything you need to sample in the time you have even with yo...

Re: Survey - Packaging Beer
I'm not entirely sure what you'd classify my process as... I push the beer from the fermenter to the kegs using CO2, but it's not really a "closed" transfer as I don't really purge the kegs of O2 before transferring. I use a long 3/8" beverage tube so that the fill goes to the bottom ...

Re: BrewPi Group Build Day?
I had constant issues with the Raspberry Pints. It seemed every time it lost power, the OS got corrupted. So I had to rebuild the damn thing from scratch, every time. Eventually I just set up my home Linux box as a web server and hosted Raspberry Pints on a standard PC. Now it's rock solid. So I can...

Do you bank with somewhere that uses Zelle? That's the easiest payment for me. Never done Venmo.
