Kegging, but need bottles for comp.
So I have been kegging my beer now for a while, and haven't bottled for at leat a year. How does one go about getting beer into a bottle for competitions? I have done the quick fill from the keg into bottles and growlers for friends, but usually the beer in consumed within hours of the transfer, so ...

Nice! I don't think I need anything right now, but I'll stop by to check out the store anyway. I'm sure I will find something I can't live without!

Thanks for getting the kegs! They are now both filled with beer!
And WOW, there was a lot of pressure in there.

Re: Firestone-Walker's "Union Jack" IPA
I am a big fan of this one. I even bought the T-Shirt when I was at the brewery in Paso last fall. I also seem to remember it won a bunch of awards at one of the recent competitions.

Secondary options
I have a beer that I need to put in a secondary fermenter with dry hops and oak chips. I know the question has been asked about using corny's for this, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion.
Which would be the better option? Carboy or Corny?
Oh, and I plan to do this today.....
Thanks!

Thanks! So are you taking the 2 blue ones, the 2 green ones, or one of each?

If your fridge is in the garage, you might just have to tell her what a good deal you got on paper....

Re: Anyone ready to order Corny kegs?
I'm in for 2 kegs! Since I only currently have 2 of them, I usually end up drinking my beer before it is "ready". Aging would be a good thing!
Let me know when you order and if you need the $$ up front, I'm just across the freeway in YL.

Hop life
I posted this in the Equpiment forum after Brad's request for his '08 hops, but I fugured I would ask again in the right place... with a bit more detail... How long do you keep hops around before you toss them for fresh stock? I was told a few years ago by a pro brewer (not related to this forum) th...

Not to steal the thread, but are 2008 hops still usable? Aren't they a bit cheesy by now?

The washing machine basin makes a great campfire container. The holes in the side let fresh air into the embers.

+1 on Robert. I never use hot water in the kitchen, except for cleaning.
