Outstanding festival...lots of rare beers from some great breweries. And yes Tim, 103 degrees is a bit too much. The hydration stations consisted of 100 degree water for us.

Arrived here in Paso Robles with Jeremy (Marotte Brewery) and his family a few hours ago. Anybody else attending this awesome festival?

Had a great time last night at the meeting, and yes much thanks to Derrin for his generosity. Had a good talk with jward about meads which really piqued my interest in doing a batch. Perhaps sometime in the near future we can have a Club Mead Day.

+1 with Greywolf. I've oaked a couple different beers and have always used medium roast French oak chips. Two ounces for two weeks seems to work for me but I recommend thiefing a sample weekly until desired taste is achieved. And from personal experience, be careful adding bourbon to the beer....a l...
