Thought i posted, must not have hit submit! Greetings from north cal! I've been lax on logging in and have missed a meeting or two. Hope to change that going fwd. RE the AHA 2017, I'm hoping some of the folks who've had success, could chime in with tis on the process. It looks like it is a bit drawn out compared to local competitions. Any advice?? TIA

This is a big contest, and that means a lot of satellite tastings to move forward to the final round. You will need to pick a few tasting cities, then be prepared to mail your bottles in.

If you move on to the final round, you will need to send a new set of entries. Re-brewing the same beer is allowed, or you can just set aside bottles from the same batch if you have them.

Like any contest, be sure to enter your beers in the style it most represents. You are being judged on how well it fits the guidelines, and how well executed (e.g. no defects) it is.

Enter early, and enter often! :happybeer:

Good luck! :)

Thanks Chris! That's just the type of info I was looking for. Since I live near Sacramento so getting beers in for round 1 should be relatively easy.

Just got notice I got into the Austin round of Judging.

Entering a Bock, London porter, and a cream ale.

Anyone else get in?

I've got two in the Sacramento regional. A US Brown and a US Porter. I expect the porter to do well, and the US Brown to score in the mid-high 30's but not place... it's not quite hoppy enough.

Thanks Fellas! Re-brewed the English IPA. It was a bit sharp at first but has mellowed and I'm very happy with it. Milk Stout is fermenting now.
