So I am thinking about doing a Standard Bitters for my first 10g batch. Figure that will give me something rather simple to play with. I have formulated this recipe, and was looking for a little feedback.

Recipe: Standard Bitters
Brewer: Grico
Asst Brewer: Brewcommune
Style: Standard/Ordinary Bitter
TYPE: All Grain

Looks good, I like the hop bill. I know carafoam is supposed to be a direct replacement for carapils, I'm not sure you should need it in a standard bitter, just mash a little warm like 154 and you'll probably get the body you want.

I'd like to try it. I'm a fan of simpler beers like bitters that don't beat you to death. Just had a Shark Bite Red from Port and it was clearly a red IPA... bummed.

Ya the Carafoam was the only thing i was on the fence about. I have never used it, but I heard it gives a slight spice flavor.

Ya, I just wanted a simple recipe for this first brew. Plus something that is cheap in case I screw it up on the new system. :-P Plus it should be highly drinkable as a standard, though i may bump it a little to a Special Bitters. It feels weird to think about brewing under 4%ABV. ... dont judge me. :cheers:
