There's a Blonde in the BackHouse ! ?

Recipe

Batch Size: 10.00 gal
Boil Size: 12.55 gal
Estimated OG: 1.045 SG
Estimated FG: 1.008 SG
Estimated Color: 5.6 SRM
Estimated IBU: 21.0 IBU
Brewhouse Efficiency: 65.00 %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:

15 lbs Pale Malt (2 Row) US
1 lbs Cara-Pils/Dextrine
2 lbs Honey Malt
1/2 lbs Special Aeromatic
1/2 lbs Barley, Flaked
1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 15L
1/4 lbs Wheat, Flaked
2.00 oz Galena hops(60 min)
1 oz Williamette hops (5 min)
1/2 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 15.0 min)
5.00 tsp Yeast Nutrient (Boil 10.0 min)
Yeast: SafAle 05

Water:
50% R/O water
50% Tustin tap water (dechlorinated)

Mash:
Single Infusion

Fermentation:
2 weeks at 68 degrees then bottle with priming sugar
Drink Good Beer!

Wow, that's quite a malt bill for a blonde ale. Are you trying to use up some small quantities of grain? Your efficiency looks pretty low, is that what you normally get?

If you always ferment at 68 with US-05 it can be an interesting experiment to try different temperatures. US-05 will work great down to the mid-50's at least, trying something like 60 or 62 would give you a bit cleaner yeast character than 68 and might work well in this beer.

Looks like a tasty beer though, I look forward to trying it at a meeting. I'd like to see how the honey malt and aromatic work together, it sounds like an interesting combination.

That was a typo. It should have said 75%
The recipe was originally from Erics computer. There were a couple of substitutes made.
I had some at the meeting last Tuesday. It got some good reviews.
I'll try a cooler fermenting temp on the next batch.

Oh, my mistake, I thought this was a recipe you're getting ready to brew. I didn't realize it was one you brought to the meeting. I'm bummed I missed it...
