Optimal CO2 pressure

Post by Otterbaub »

i just picked up a CO2 Kit and was wondering what the optimal CO2 should read. Currently its up in the low 20's im thinking that is a bit too high and needs to be back off.
Beer is like bread just in different ratios.

I assume you're talking about the psi for carbonating/dispensing beer? I usually use around 10-12 psi, but it will vary depending on temperature and the length of your serving lines. This article from BYO is a good summary of the math, but I generally just do it by feel.
