Barbed ball lock post for beer line cleaning

They suggest that this makes a great addition to the Mark's Keg Washer. I was speaking with Sam yesterday and he thought BLC might be too caustic to run through the Mark's pump. So it might be worthwhile to just do this with a cheaper [more disposable] submersible pump and a bucket instead.

Either way, it looks like a convenient little solution, and given that I'm sure many of us don't clean the beer lines NEARLY as often as we should, might come in handy.

Using a pump is certainly optimum way to go
As an option I found a 2 gallon pump sprayer at dome hepot for $10
Added one ball lock post and now have cleaning solution running thru line and tap

Which ball lock post did you add? I presume it has something like a shank and you use a nut on the back to affix it in place?

Tried using an adaptor with threads to match a ball lock post...not happy with it
Here is a simpler method
Use flair quick disconnects and remove QD from line
Using a flair fitting attached to spray tank wand, attach to beer line and flush
This also allows you to dissemble the QD and clean completely
The tank is 1 gallon and cost was about $11

Tried using this adaptor from Chicompany

This item is a 1/4 MPT x 19/32 - 18 adaptor that converts the post connector to MPT threads
Was not happy with the way it went together plus number of fittings required to make it work
Decided to use the 1/4" flair fitting instead so QD can be dissembled and cleaned

Very cool gadgets all!

I picked up a ball lock to hose barb adapter and put it on the end of a hand pump 2gal garden fertilizer bottle from Home Depot. Works well enough... Add BLC, pump for pressure, connect to taps, and flow it through a bit. Pause. Let it sit in the tubing for a few minutes, then continue. Flush with water, then starsan afterwards.

I like the idea of using a pump to continuously circulate the BLC through the lines. I might pick up one of those adapters and use it with the pump from my keg washer. Right now, I just put a gallon of BLC solution in a 3 gallon keg and push that with CO2 through the lines and let it soak for a little while.
