Storing water filter

Post by lexuschris »

Hey all,

So, I got myself a hard carbon water filter and used it for brewing today. How do you recommend storing the unit when not in use? e.g. Empty the water, and let the filter cylinder dry then store dry? Or keep it in water and store it that way...

I know these units are typically installed under the sink where they are always in the water. Just not sure which is best, since I only brew every 4 weeks or so...

Thoughts?

I was told to open it up and let it dry. I've done that for a year or so now and haven't seen any mildew in the filter.
I have not yet begun to defile myself.

Ditto what Scott says - that's how I store mine.

I used to let it dry until one mildewed. Now I store it wet. I figure it will go bad in some way too.
