What is it doing? Was it working and then just quit? Does the compressor and fans run and it just doesn't cool?

Yes, it was working and just quit. The compressor and fan still run, but it isn't cool. Know anyone?

Fridgerator is FIXED!!!

It looks like it overheated and "lost" it refrigerant. I still don't understand how that can happen, but it is working again. :-)

Ummm.... That's not possible. It's a sealed system, so unless the seal was compromised there is not way yo lose refrigerant.

With the newer blended refrigerants, it is possible that the overall properties could be destroyed by overheating, they (the new blends) break down over time anyway, but they'll still cool. Just not well.

And why did it over heat?

The tech said this is not a sealed system - residential is sealed, commercial is not... I did see the valve were you can let refrigerant out. Yeah, it's another one of those things were you wish you knew more about it, so you could fix it yourself. Then again, that would take time away from beer soooo that ain't going to happen ;-)

My two fridges say otherwise, but it's likely that your service port was added by a previous repair attempt.

The *think* that is what the repairman said. He was difficult to understand.

Because he had an accent? Or because you gave him a few of your hi-grav samples? :happybeer:
